Response

Just a thought tonight...I'm in a bit of a 'deep thinking' mode....tell me....when the Lord asks something of you, typically, what is your response? When He lays something on your heart that stretches you...makes you feel 'uncomfortable'...how do you respond?

i'd love to hear your thoughts...obviously i'm working on a "Response" of my own....

yep, deep thought and I would answer much, but I'll try to be concise on a "comment". I used to think, "that must not be God, He wouldn't ask that of me.. it's probably that bad guy that wants me to hurt from 'stretching' like this.", now I think a little differently... my first response will most likely be, "God you are God and I am not, I want to KNOW it is You Who is asking this, and if it is, show me HOW to do it because I know your Word says, You give Grace for the requests You make of me." God doesn't play tricks, He wants to answer (I must remember there is an "ask" first), and HE ALWAYS gives the grace to do it... that is a sure sign for me... is the grace there?

Sadly, my usual first response is: UGH! Even spiritual growth involves growing pains. I'm always (well, I guess not always) blessed when I follow through.

So true on both of your parts. Seems I often say UGH, but know within me that what He brings to me to flesh out will ultimately be for His Glory! Right now, He has brought to me some things that need to be dealt with before He will release us from the place we are right now. SO.......it is all worth it - and I know already with certainty that it IS of Him...I think the biggest part is just being obedient DAILY!

I was friends with Molly's sister, Sarah, at ACU. Crazy. See, God wanted us to be neighbors, possums & all.
